This compulsion will take effect from January 2026.
Pakistan makes Soft Skills Certificate compulsory
According to the announcement made by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, it will be applied to jobseekers travelling abroad through licensed employment agencies, as well as Pakistanis seeking overseas employment on their own.
These individuals would have to acquire the certificate before registration with the Protectorate of Immigration.
How to apply
Interested individuals can use the OIC App PakSoftSkills or the official online portal: https://softskills.oec.gov.pk/
It has been advised that individuals use only the official app or portal for obtaining the certificate.
Additionally, it is not mandatory for those who have already had a protector. But it is only mandatory for new protectors, the Bureau clarified.
What is a soft skill certificate?
A soft skill certificate is proof of completing training in essential interpersonal and personal qualities.
These include attributes like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
These skills complement technical skills and help verify that the candidate can work effectively with others.
Additionally, the certificate also ensures that he or she can adapt in various professional settings.
These certificates are often required for overseas jobs.
They help show employers that the candidate has the important “people skills” for teamwork and client satisfaction.
