Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had a heated exchange with Islamabad Police at the entry gate of the Supreme Court.
According to reports, Islamabad Police asked the Chief Minister’s security team to have a security shield accompanying him scanned before entering the premises.
The security team reportedly resisted the request, prompting police officials to explain that although they were aware that the item was a security shield, scanning it was mandatory as part of security protocols.
The request reportedly angered Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who left the area but later returned and exchanged heated words with the police personnel.
According to the account, the Chief Minister also lectured the Islamabad Police officials on proper conduct and ethics before leaving the premises.
KP CM says PTI has received Justice, urges courts to uphold fairness
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had received justice from the courts and stressed that providing justice was the fundamental responsibility of the judiciary.
He said that if courts failed to provide justice, questions would arise about where the country’s people could turn for relief.
The KP chief minister described PTI founder Imran Khan as the most popular leader in the country. He said that if Imran Khan was subjected to injustice or treated in an unlawful or unconstitutional manner, ordinary citizens would also be left without recourse.
Afridi said he hoped the courts would continue to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.
He also directed PTI workers to avoid gathering around the hospital during Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital.
Today, the Supreme Court has ordered Imran Khan’s immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment.
The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital for medical treatment.
According to the court’s directions, Imran Khan should be shifted to the hospital today. The court also ordered that doctors Faisal Sultan and Uzma Khan will accompany him during the transfer and remain involved in his medical care.
Imran Khan will also stay in hospital until the next hearing of the court. The court has also emphasised that PTI does not use this as a political tool.

The Supreme Court further directed that the expenses related to Imran Khan’s treatment and hospitalisation at Shifa International Hospital will be borne privately.
The order comes as the court directed authorities to ensure that the PTI founder receives the required medical treatment at the hospital without delay.
The Supreme Court also ordered that Imran Khan will be able to meet his family once a week.
