Pakistan to host South Africa women’s U19 side for first-ever tour

South Africa Pakistan U19

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that South Africa Women’s U19 team will travel to Pakistan for its first ever tour to play a five match T20 series with Pakistan Women’s U19.

The series will be hosted at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi from July 14th to 24th.

The visitors are expected to land in Karachi on 10 July.

The two sides will conduct their training at National Bank Stadium between July 11-13 before a series opener against each other on July 14.

The other fixtures will come into play on July 17, 19, 22 and 24. Time of matches will be announced later.

The tour signifies a big step towards the development of U19 women’s cricket and is a great opportunity for young cricketers from both nations for international exposure.

The U19 Pakistan women’s team are riding on the high spirits of a five-match bilateral T20 series they won earlier this year, against Bangladesh, 3-2.

The next series is expected to be of significance while U19 Pakistan gears up for two important series in the near future, the ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup to be played later this year and the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup early next year.

In a bid to bolster the national talent pool, the PCB Women’s Cricket Section held a training camp series in Karachi to select the young emerging players.

The purpose of the camps was to improve the abilities and the commitment of the young cricketers in preparation for these crucial assignments internationally.

The five matches of the series will take place at the National Bank Stadium, giving both teams a competitive environment to continue their preparations for future matches on the international stage.
