The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has formally accepted the ‘peace appeal’ made by the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
In his post, the Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, announced an immediate ceasefire and safe passage for ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Abbas Araghchi’s statement
According to details, Iranian Foreign Minister (FM), Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a major statement issued from Tehran, thanked PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their tireless efforts.
He said that Iran highly values the sincere efforts made by its “Pakistani brothers” to end the war in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Iran has announced that if the attacks against it are stopped, the Iranian armed forces will immediately cease all their defensive operations.
At the special request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Iran has allowed the safe passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz for the next two weeks.
Iran has welcomed the US President’s decision to accept Iran’s 10-point proposal as the basis for talks, the path of which was paved by Pakistan.
The international media is calling this development the biggest diplomatic victory in Pakistan’s recent history.
The political efforts of PM Shehbaz Sharif and the strong diplomacy of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have paved the way at a time when the world was on the brink of a major nuclear conflict.
Iran’s gratitude to these two figures by name is proof that Pakistan has emerged as the greatest guarantor of peace on a global scale.
Oil prices falling after ceasefire
Immediately after this announcement, global stock markets have seen a huge rally, and crude oil prices are stabilising.
It is expected that formal talks between the US and Iran will begin during the two-week ultimatum provided by Pakistan, which will lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region.
