Reports circulating on social media about the daughter of Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Asif Ahmed Sheikh securing 171 marks in the MDCAT examination have been found to be false, according to the official results and records issued by the testing authority.
According to the official record released by the Sukkur IBA Testing Services, Benazir Asif Sheikh, daughter of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Asif Ahmed Sheikh, scored 157 marks out of 180 in the MDCAT examination.
The clarification came after social media posts claimed that she had obtained 171 marks in the test.
Speaking about the matter, Vice Chancellor Asif Ahmed Sheikh said the MDCAT examination was conducted with transparency and that claims circulating on social media regarding his daughter’s marks were baseless and fabricated.
Earlier, Sheikh briefed the media on the MDCAT results and said the examination had been conducted across the country with transparency, while the results were uploaded on the official website.
He said Sukkur IBA Testing Services had been conducting the MDCAT examination for the past three years and had also conducted the 2026 test.
According to the vice chancellor, the results were prepared through the efforts of the university’s team, with each candidate’s answer sheet checked carefully. He said the answer keys were also verified and no errors were found.
More than 33,000 candidates from across the country were registered for the MDCAT, while 16,507 candidates qualified for MBBS and BDS admissions, according to the figures shared by the vice chancellor.
He further said 19,323 candidates qualified for BDS, while 14,013 candidates failed the MDCAT examination.
Earlier, the final results of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 were announced in Sindh after all complaints regarding the examination and results were reviewed and resolved.
According to the Subtesting Service, the final results have been prepared and released according to merit. Candidates can now check their individual results through the Subtesting Service website, where the MDCAT 2026 results have been uploaded.
The MDCAT examination was conducted on September 20 at nine examination centres established across Sindh and Islamabad. The examination centres were set up in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Islamabad.
The Subtesting Service said the final results were issued after reviewing the complaints received from candidates regarding the examination and results. All complaints submitted during the process have now been resolved, paving the way for the release of the final merit-based results.
