Private schools in Punjab have sought permission to organise summer camps to make up for the educational loss during the summer holidays, according to the reports on Wednesday.

School owners have said that the government should allow them to organise early morning summer camps during the summer holidays, according to the reports. This is so that the continuity of students’ studies can be maintained.

According to them, summer camps should be organised from 7 to 10 AM, so that the intensity of the heat can also be avoided.

School administration says that the duration of curricular activities has been affected due to the recent undeclared holidays.

They add that this will be of considerable benefit to students in reducing the learning loss from the summer camp. They say that this educational loss can be reduced to a great extent through summer camps.

According to sources in the School Education Department, permission has been given to organise summer camps for one month every year.

However, this year, the final permission will be given after the approval of the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz.

When will Friday holiday in schools end

The Education Minister of Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, recently clarified the news circulating about Friday holidays in schools.

He said that the Friday holidays in educational institutions will not become permanent and schools will soon return to the normal weekly schedule.

In a statement, he said that the Friday holidays were given on a temporary basis. He said that it is not being made part of the permanent system.

According to the education minister, Friday holidays will be completely abolished in the coming weeks. Adding that educational institutions will resume their traditional working hours.

In this regard, the provincial government is in touch with the federal government to make sure that the decisions are being implemented.
