Web desk: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to everyone on the inauguration of a remarkable T-Chowk Iqbal flyover on Thursday.
PM Shehbaz also praised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his team for completing the project.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the project was completed in a record time. According to sources, the project took only 90 days to complete.
He noted that the quality of the flyover is excellent and expressed satisfaction at providing the public with the best travel facilities.
Shahbaz Sharif added that in a short period, significant projects for public welfare have been completed.
He emphasised that these projects are important for the convenience of ordinary citizens.
Naqvi promises ‘new Islamabad’
Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the project will provide major relief to the people of Islamabad.
He recalled that a year ago, their expressway had been completed. Naqvi also announced that a service road project will be initiated alongside the expressway.
The minister mentioned that traffic jams at T-Chowk were a common problem. He said that in two years, citizens will see a new and improved Islamabad. Naqvi concluded by stating that the government is implementing its Vision 2027 plan for the city’s development.
Rawalpindi Electric Bus Service Today
Previously, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz unveiled the electric bus service in Rawalpindi.
As per details, the arrangements for the official visit of CM Maryam have been completed. Roads of the Garrison City have been decorated with plants and flowers. Whereas the city has been cleaned by the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company.
Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Asad Shirazi told a private media outlet that “In the first phase, 45 e-buses will be operated on four routes, and the number of buses will be expanded in the coming days. As the Kutchery Chowk remodelling project is in progress, it is not included among the routes.”
E-bus routes in Rawalpindi
The city will see a total of seven buses on the roads. The buses will be operated from Saddar to Qabristan Chowk at Misrial Road via Qasim Market, Shalley Valley (total 7 kilometres), eight buses on the second route from Fawara Chowk to Koral Chowk via Liaquat Bagh and Sir Syed Road and the Old Airport Road (11.3 kilometres) and seven buses on the third route will be from Saddar Metro Bus Station to Munawar Colony via Tulsa Road.
Meanwhile, 14 buses will be operated on the fourth route from the Marrir Metro Bus Station to the Motorway Chowk via The Mall and Peshawar Road (13.1 kilometres).
