Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has regained the No.1 ranking among T20I all-rounders by displacing Sikandar Raza after picking 3 wickets against India in Colombo at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Raza falls down to second, while Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee (two places up) and Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai (up four places) tie for fourth place after good recent performances.
In the bowler rankings, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan overtook to the number two spot closing in on India’s Varun Chakravarthy.
While Zimbabwe pacer Brad Evans leapt 10 places to the no. 5 spot following successive three wicket hauls.
India’s Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah were also moved up to 14th and 15th respectively while Ireland spinner Matthew Humphreys rocketed 23 places to 23rd.
Sadia Iqbal on Top in Women’s T20I
Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal has returned to her No.1 T20I bowler ranking with some amazing performances against South Africa.
She made this her best series by finishing the three games series as joint leading wicket-taker with five wickets, including a 3/18 spell in the series finale in Benoni.
Iqbal overtook the rest of the world and got way ahead of Australia’s Annabel Sutherland and India’s Deepti Sharma.
Deepti first held the top spot in late 2024 and regained it after Sutherland lost the top rank for a bit last month.
Fatima Sana and Pakistani Batting Making News
Captain Fatima Sana jumped to 28th in the T20I batters in a leap of 31 places and increased five places in the all-rounders ranking and is now at the sixth position.
She had an unbeaten score of 47 off 30 balls and she took two crucial wickets in the series finale, against South Africa.
Rising Stars from India and Sri Lanka
Indian bowlers Renuka Singh, Arundhati Reddy, and Shree Charani all climbed in the ranking after the opening T20I against Australia.
Amongst batters, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka moved up to the 3rd position and India’s Ishan Kishan rose 17 places to the 8th position after a Player of the Match performance.
