Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry stated that India has increased funding for terrorism in Pakistan by 3 times.
Talal Chaudhry claimed that the bombers were sponsored by Afghanistan and India, and that neighbouring countries are involved in terrorism across Pakistan. Speaking to media representatives here on Friday, he said that the suicide bomber has been identified through forensic examination of his body parts.
The cousin of the IG Islamabad and a Gilgit police inspector were among those martyred in the blast, he confirmed.
He stated that terrorists have reached the limits of cowardice, targeting soft targets such as mosques, educational institutions and banks. The Minister of State added that the suicide bomber had travelled to Afghanistan several times and that his travel history is linked to Afghanistan.
It is worth mentioning here that, as a result of a suicide blast at a mosque in Tarlai on the outskirts of Rawalpindi, 31 people have been martyred. Several worshippers were injured.
IG Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi’s cousin, Assistant Patrolling Officer, Shahzeb Javed, has also been martyred in the Tarlai mosque blast on the outskirts of Rawalpindi, on Friday.
According to reports, he was IG Islamabad’s first cousin. Additionally, reports suggest that his father has also been injured. The suicide bomber was intercepted before the bomb blast. Sources also add that the bomber detonated after seeing that he was being stopped.
Many deaths have been averted since the suicide bomber was intercepted, sources add.
Sources say that if the suicide bomber had not intercepted on time, he would have gone to the main hall of the mosque. This would have caused a much bigger tragedy. However, the complete extent of damage has not been confirmed yet.
