Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Tuesday exposed PTI for hiding facts about negotiations and said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had misrepresented the situation surrounding the talks.
Addressing a press conference, Chaudhry said PTI had failed to present the complete facts about the negotiations and exposed that the party was shifting responsibility for the breakdown in talks.
He said PTI’s refusal to take action against terrorism had contributed to derailing the dialogue process, adding that negotiations could not move forward without addressing security concerns.
Chaudhry also challenged statements of Sohail Afridi, saying the PTI leadership needed to explain its position on the talks and its response to terrorism-related concerns.
The minister said the government had made efforts to keep the dialogue process moving, but maintained that cooperation on security matters was essential for meaningful negotiations.
