More than 150 shops were reduced to ashes in a horrific fire that broke out early Saturday morning in a commercial market located near the Torkham border on Afghan territory.
However, according to sources, the fire was started by Taliban elements themselves and is now being blamed on Pakistan so that a new deal can be found to sell to the world.
According to local sources, the incident occurred at around 4 am on Saturday when a fire suddenly broke out in different parts of the market, engulfing dozens of shops in an instant.
According to initial estimates, traders have suffered losses worth around 300 million Afghanis.
Taliban set fire to the Torkham market
Taliban officials immediately blamed Pakistan, but security sources are calling the claim a complete lie and falsehood. According to them, the market is located within Afghan borders. How is it possible that Pakistan’s security forces crossed the border and burned the entire market?
Local traders say that armed Taliban personnel were seen moving in the area shortly before the fire.
Security sources say that the fire is likely to have been caused by an internal incident or mismanagement, after which an attempt is being made to inflame border tensions by blaming Pakistan.
According to rescue sources, the fire continued to burn for several hours, destroying the busy commercial market of Torkham and turning the capital of dozens of traders into ashes.
