Teaching Jobs in KP 2026: 10,000 teachers to be recruited, see details

Web desk: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has approved the hiring of 10,000 temporary teachers for boys’ and girls’ primary schools under the Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) framework.

The Finance Department has also granted permission to recruit 2,802 chowkidars to address staff shortages in government schools across the province.

Official documents show that the Elementary and Secondary Education Department has issued a detailed recruitment plan to Directors of Education and all District Education Officers.

The decision was made in the 424th meeting of the provincial cabinet.

Teaching Jobs in KP 2026

Recruitment in schools located in plain areas will start on January 16.

In cold and mountainous regions, the hiring process will begin in March due to weather conditions.

Teachers in summer zone schools will work from January 16 to May 31, 2026, for five months.

In winter zone schools, teachers will be employed from March 1 to June 30, 2026, for four months.

All appointments will be made through PTCs from the officially notified talent pool, following a transparent procedure.

The performance of teachers will be assessed through the School-Based Assessment (SBA) of students.

District Education Officers will categorise schools into summer and winter zones. And send funding requests to the Finance Department for release to the respective PTCs.

Temporary positions

Authorities have clarified that these positions are temporary. And selected teachers will not be entitled to permanent employment or future regularisation.
