Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned of possible further attacks following American strikes on Iran’s university in Tehran.
In a statement reported by Iranian state media, the Guards said institutions they consider linked to the United States and Israel in the Middle East could be treated as potential targets.
Claims over university attack
Iranian authorities said the warning comes after a reported bombing at a science and technology university in Tehran.
They blamed the incident on American and Israeli involvement, although there has been no independent confirmation of those claims.
Officials said the response would be part of what they described as retaliatory measures.
Warning to civilians
The IRGC statement urged people to avoid areas near certain universities in the region, advising a distance of at least one kilometre from such locations.
It said the warning applied to students, staff and residents living nearby, citing safety concerns.
Message to Washington
The statement also addressed the White House, calling on US authorities to condemn the reported attack on Iranian institutions.
It set a deadline for a response, saying further action could follow if its demands were not met.
Wider tensions
There has been no immediate response from US or Israeli officials to the claims.
The development comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, where accusations and counter-accusations between Iran, the United States and Israel have increased in recent months.
Analysts say such statements can further raise concerns about escalation, particularly when civilian locations are referenced in official warnings.
