Terrorism in KP limited to few regions, says Faisal Karim Kundi

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi said on Tuesday that Terrorism is limited to a few areas, adding that it is not affecting the entire province, the private media channel reported.

Addressing a ceremony in Peshawar, Faisal Karim Kundi said that agricultural development could be used as a tool to eliminate terrorism in the province. He further said that the stability and peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would fuel an increase in investment and the province’s development.

Faisal Karim Kundi stated that the country’s security forces are making immense sacrifices to ensure peace in the province.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remarked that collective efforts can help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reach new heights in several areas, including business and trade. He showed hope by saying that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will emerge as a significant hub for investment in the country.

He also praised the armed forces and said that Pakistan won a May war against India. He also criticised India, saying that India is using Afghan soil to attack Pakistan.

In a precision intelligence-based operation conducted on 29 December 2025 in the general area of Khar, Bajaur District, Pakistan’s security forces successfully killed five militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group, Fitna al Khwarij, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out following credible reports of the presence of the militants in the area.

During the intense engagement, the security forces eliminated five militants who had been involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security personnel and civilians.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the deceased militants.

Tragically, Major Adeel Zaman, 36, who was leading the operation from the front, was martyred while bravely engaging the militants. He was a resident of Dera Ismail Khan District.

Major Zaman’s gallantry and leadership were highlighted in the ISPR statement.

The ISPR confirmed that sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure no other militants remain in the area.

The counter-terrorism campaign, under the vision “Azm e Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

It will continue with full intensity to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
