Web desk: In a major counterterrorism operation, Pakistan’s security forces have killed the militants responsible for the deadly attack that claimed the lives of Wing Commander Colonel Junaid Tariq and nine other soldiers in Orakzai, according to sources.
According to official sources, around 30 terrorists were eliminated during coordinated military actions conducted across the Kurram and Orakzai districts, sources say.
According to the sources, the operation was launched after credible intelligence reports confirmed the presence of the group involved in the recent attack.
Security officials stated that all key members of the network have been neutralised, marking a significant breakthrough in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing a federal cabinet meeting, commended the armed forces for their swift response and reiterated the government’s commitment to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.
He said the state would pursue an “all-out war” against extremist groups that threaten national security and peace.
The Pakistan Army reaffirmed its resolve to continue counterterrorism operations until a lasting peace is restored, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of officers and soldiers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
