Thieves broke into a house in India’s Rajasthan state and stole valuables worth lakhs of rupees, but their unusual activity in the kitchen left police surprised.
According to Indian media reports, the burglars entered the empty house, cooked and ate a 14-egg omelette before stealing valuable items and fleeing.
The theft took place at the home of Harjeet Singh, a resident of Mahakal Colony, who was in Mumbai with his family for cancer treatment at the time of the incident.
Police said the thieves ransacked the house and took an LED television, cash and jewellery before escaping. After receiving information about the burglary, police reached the scene and launched an investigation.
As the family is currently in Mumbai, authorities said the exact value of the stolen items and the total financial loss could not yet be determined.
A police officer said that although a private security guard was stationed in the colony, the thieves managed to evade him and enter the house.

According to Indian media reports, masked thieves entered the house and searched different rooms in a highly organised manner. Police were initially surprised to find that the intruders had detailed knowledge of the house and its valuables, raising suspicion that someone close to the family may have been involved.
Police said the thieves targeted jewellery and other valuable items before escaping easily, leaving the family in shock over the sudden theft.
