A TikTok friendship allegedly turned fatal in the Amin Park area of Jaranwala, where a woman and her acquaintance are accused of murdering the husband, police said on Friday.
The victim, Usman, a rickshaw driver and father of four, was allegedly killed by his wife, Nadia, with the help of her paramour, Ghulam Mustafa.
According to police, Nadia and Ghulam Mustafa became friends through TikTok, and their online interaction later developed into a romantic relationship.
Investigators said the accused planned to eliminate Usman after he became an obstacle in their relationship.
The victim’s father told police that Usman, Nadia, and Ghulam Mustafa used to make TikTok videos together. He alleged that Nadia conspired with Ghulam Mustafa to have her husband killed.
Police said Ghulam Mustafa was arrested using modern technology. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to being in love with Nadia and admitted to killing Usman after discovering that Nadia and Usman were still living together despite being divorced.
A police sub-inspector said the incident has left four innocent children deprived of the love and care of both parents. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
