As the President of Kazakhstan is scheduled to land in Pakistan, major roads in Islamabad will remain closed after ITP announced a new traffic plan.
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a detailed advisory for today, February 3, 2026, between 5 pm and 6 pm. Traffic will be diverted on main roads, including.
- The Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road.
- Traffic pressure will increase on the Express Highway and Faisal Avenue.
- Travellers from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should use Rawal Road Rawalpindi, 9th Avenue, Faqeera Api Road, and Srinagar Highway.
- Travellers going from Islamabad to Rawalpindi should use Zero Point and Srinagar Highway to 9th Avenue.
- Travellers coming and going between Murree/Barakahu and Islamabad should use Korang Road, Bhunngala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road.
- Travellers going from Serena and Barakahu to Rawalpindi should use Park Road Khanna.
If the travellers face any difficulty, they can contact the Traffic Helpline 1915 or dial 15 for any updates. Islamabad Traffic Police officers will be present on the roads for the convenience of citizens.
Kazakhstan’s President to arrive in Pakistan today
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will undertake his first State Visit to Pakistan on 03-04 February 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, comprising senior Cabinet Ministers and other high-ranking officials.
During the visit, President Tokayev is expected to meet with the President of Pakistan, hold talks with the Prime Minister, and address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum.
The visit will provide the two sides an important and timely opportunity to undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, discuss new avenues for broadening cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and explore collaboration at regional and international forums.
The forthcoming visit reflects the strengthening bonds between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, their mutual commitment to transforming historic and cultural affinities into robust cooperation, and their common desire for peace and progress in the region.
