Traffic Plan for Islamabad protesst

Protests have been called in Islamabad and Rawalpindi today, March 6, Friday, after Jumma prayers, to protest the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The call for the protest was made on Thursday and a traffic plan has been laid down. The rally will start from G-6/2.

According to the plan, a protest rally in Islamabad is expected to start from the G-6/2 Imambargah and move towards D-Chowk. Due to the procession, road closures and traffic diversions are expected around the Red Zone, G-6, Aabpara and D-Chowk.

Containers are being placed on Fazal-e-Haq Road near the G-6 Imambargah and at D-Chowk to restrict movement.

Access to the Red Zone will remain open only from Margalla Road and the Marriott Hotel side.

Kulsoom Plaza on Fazal-e-Haq Road near China Chowk will remain closed for traffic, while commuters have been advised to use Jinnah Avenue as an alternative route.

Traffic will also be diverted near the polyclinic at Lal Quarter Chowk on Luqman Hakeem Road. Motorists have been advised to use Saddar Road instead.

People travelling from G-6 to F-6 can use the China Chowk Underpass or 7th Avenue to reach Jinnah Avenue.

A diversion will also be in place at Aabpara Chowk on Suhrawardy Road near Serena Hotel.

People coming from Club Road have been advised to use Kashmir Chowk, Srinagar Highway, 7th Avenue and Margalla Road. Meanwhile, commuters travelling from Bhara Kahu should use Srinagar Highway, 7th Avenue and Margalla Road via Kashmir Chowk.
