ITP announces traffic plan for Islamabad today

Traffic plan Islamabad

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Sunday issued a traffic plan, urging citizens to avoid certain routes in the federal capital as temporary diversions will be in place due to the movement of foreign delegations.

According to officials, traffic may be halted briefly on various roads to ensure smooth passage of official guests, and commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and leave early to avoid delays.

The advisory also comes amid ongoing rain, with authorities warning that wet and slippery roads could slow down traffic flow.

Drivers and motorcyclists have been urged to reduce speed, maintain lane discipline, and exercise extra caution while traveling. Motorists should use indicators and side mirrors properly, while motorcyclists are advised to stay in the extreme left lane and drive carefully.

The ITP added that traffic personnel will be deployed across the city to assist and guide the public. In case of any inconvenience or for real-time updates, citizens can contact the traffic helpline 1915 or the emergency service “Pucar-15.”
