Trails in Islamabad to remain closed tomorrow

The Federal Capital Authority has announced the temporary closure of Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the hiking route behind Saidpur Village on April 12, 2026.

According to an official notification issued by the DC office, the decision has been taken as part of safety measures and to ensure smooth management in the area during the specified period.

Officials have urged citizens and hiking enthusiasts to cooperate with authorities and avoid visiting the affected trails on the closure date. Visitors are also advised to plan their outdoor activities accordingly to prevent inconvenience.

The authorities have emphasised that the restrictions are temporary and are aimed at maintaining public safety and orderly management in the Margalla Hills trail network. Normal access is expected to be restored after the completion of the operational requirements.

The public has been urged to follow official guidelines to help maintain order and ensure safety in the surrounding areas.

The latest directive comes amid a series of broader administrative measures introduced in Islamabad over the past 24 hours, including the announcement of local holidays, the closure of educational institutions, and restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles across the capital.

The temporary shutdown of hiking trails is believed to be part of wider security and administrative arrangements ahead of anticipated high-level official engagements later this week.

Earlier, authorities had already declared local holidays on April 9 and 10, while separate notifications also led to the closure of educational institutions across Islamabad, affecting academic activities in the city.
