The increase in public transport fares has finally been withdrawn now that the prices of the petroleum products have been reduced.

Several transport companies and Public transporters have reduced fares by 25 per cent. If a person is travelling from Lahore to Karachi, their fare has been reduced from Rs7190 to Rs5390.

When travelling from Lahore to Islamabad the fare has been reduced from Rs2880 to Rs2160 rupees. Travelling to Murree will now cost Rs2620 instead of Rs3500. If a traveller is going to Bahawalpur from Lahore, then he or she will pay Rs2630 to Rs1970.

Additionally, the fare from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan has been reduced from 3,160 to 2,370 rupees, and from Lahore to Abbottabad from 3,750 to 2,810 rupees.

The Pakistan Mini Mazda Association has also announced a 25 per cent reduction in fares. According to the President of the Pakistan Mini Mazda Association, a 25 per cent reduction in truck fares will be implemented immediately.

Public and goods transporters across Pakistan have announced a reduction in fares after a drop in petroleum product prices.

In Lahore, public transport operators have immediately reduced fares by 25 per cent. Several private transport companies have also followed suit, implementing similar 25 per cent reductions. Additionally, fares for Mazda trucks have been decreased by 25 per cent.

Goods transporters have announced an even larger reduction, cutting fares by up to 40 per cent nationwide. According to the President of the Pakistan Goods Transport Association, freight charges across the country have been reduced by Rs40 per unit with immediate effect.

He welcomed the government’s decision to lower diesel prices, calling it a positive step for the transport sector.
