Travelling abroad gets easier with European Entry/Exit system

Now you can easily travel to Europe with the European Entry-Exit system, as it is active at all external border crossing points in countries using EES starting today.

Pakistanis can also benefit, as the citizens travelling to the 29 Schengen area countries use the new EES since October 12, 2025, as well.

The European Entry/Exit System is a border check for non-EU nationals. It applies to people travelling to the Schengen area for short stays in 29 European countries.

The system replaces passport stamping with digital records. This makes travel much more easier.

It also makes travel more efficient and secure. Data is collected at border crossing points from April 10, 2026.

What is the Entry/Exit System (EES) about?

Schengen countries have a population of 450 million. They have removed the passport and border control between them. This allows free movement for citizens, residents and visitors.

The Entry/Exit System is a border management system for the European Union. It supports travel in Schengen Area countries.

Who is the EES for?

The system is for non-EU nationals. It applies to short stays in Schengen countries. Some people are exempt. Check the official EES website for the full list.

The EES works at the external borders of the European Union and the Schengen Area. It also aims to speed up border checks. It also improves internal security.

The EES collects data from your travel document. It records the date and place of each entry and exit.

It also collects biometric data. This helps make border checks more efficient and secure.
