The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, has hinted that a country has agreed to provide security in Gaza, without revealing the name.
However, sources suggest that the country President Trump is hinting at could be Cyprus.
Officials in Athens and Nicosia also confirmed that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides have received the invitation, according to international media sources.
The White House has announced the founding members of the council, which will be chaired by President Donald Trump, Greek Reporter stated.
The members include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Trump’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner.
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and World Bank President Ajay Banga are also part of the board.
Other founding executive members include Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan and senior presidential advisor Robert Gabriel.
Regarding this, Bloomberg has given a list of world leaders invited to Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza.
However, Bloomberg also cautioned, “The following list of invitations is based on people familiar with the matter and social media posts. Not all countries have confirmed receipt, and the list is not exhaustive.”

In the recent updates, Pakistan has accepted the invitation to join the Gaza Board of Peace in response to an invitation from US President Donald Trump, to support the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan under the framework of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
Additionally, Türkiye has confirmed its participation in the Gaza Board of Peace.
Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will visit Switzerland on January 22 to participate in the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace Charter, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed.
