A viral video circulating on social media claiming that US President Donald Trump made derogatory remarks about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) is misleading, with no evidence supporting the claim.
The clip, which was initially shared by an account named “South Asia Index” on X, attributes comments by Trump directly to the Saudi Crown Prince. However, a closer review of the video shows that Trump does not mention Mohammed bin Salman at any point, neither before nor after the remarks presented in the clip.
Fact-checking of the footage shows that the statements have been taken out of context and incorrectly linked to MBS. There is no verifiable evidence in the video that Trump was referring to the Saudi Crown Prince.
Experts said that the content appears to have been selectively framed and circulated widely on social media, leading to confusion and disinformation. The misleading video clip is going viral across multiple platforms.
Analysts warned that such incidents bring the growing challenge of misinformation online to light, where edited or decontextualised content can quickly spread and shape public perception without factual basis.
Netizens are advised to verify claims from Pakistan Connect Fact Check before sharing content, particularly when it involves honourable dignitaries and sensitive international relationships.

Grok flags edited video of Trump by Indian accounts targeting Pakistan
The viral video circulating on social media, which claimed that US President Donald Trump made derogatory remarks about Pakistan by Indian platforms, has been flagged by Grok as misleading and edited.
The clip, shared by several India accounts, shows reporter asking a question from Trump: “Why choose Pakistan to send your 15-point conditions to Iran?” followed by a response in which Trump appears to make derogatory comments. However, fact-checking reveals that the video has been taken out of context and manipulated.
According to a clarification by Grok, the footage is “misleadingly edited.” The AI tool noted that Trump’s remarks were originally made during the FII Priority Summit in Miami, where he was speaking about Iran in a completely different context, not responding to any question about Pakistan.
Grok further stated that the quote used in the viral clip where Trump says he prefers being around “losers” was not for Pakistan. Instead, the clip appears to splice unrelated segments together to create a false narrative.
The misinformation reportedly originated from accounts linked to Indian social media networks and quickly gained traction online, raising concerns about deliberate disinformation campaigns.
Earlier, Donald Trump said he would delay any potential military action targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure, extending the deadline by 10 days until April 6, 2026.
In his post at Truth Social, the US President said, “As per the Iranian Government’s request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

The US president said the decision was made as talks with Iran were continuing.
He added that the pause followed what he described as a request from Tehran, although there has been no confirmation from Iranian officials.
