US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran in a post on Truth Social, hinting at a possible escalation in tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
According to his statement, US President Trump said that if Iran agrees to the previously outlined terms, military operations referred to as “Epic Fury’ would come to an end. He added that the current blockade would be lifted, ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for global navigation, including access for Iran.
The remarks underscore growing concerns over stability in the region, as the Strait of Hormuz continues to serve as one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes.
However, Trump warned that failure to reach an agreement would result in renewed military action. “If they don’t agree, the bombing starts,” he wrote, adding that any future strikes would be carried out “at a much higher level and intensity than it was before.”
The comments highlight rising geopolitical tensions in the region, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes. Analysts viewed that any disruption in the area could have wide-reaching economic and security implications.
Iranian officials have not yet publicly responded to the remarks. Observers are closely watching for diplomatic developments as concerns grow over the possibility of further escalation.
Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Donald Trump for pausing the project freedom in the Straight of Hormuz.
The Prime Minister stated on his X account that “President Trump’s gracious response to the request made by Pakistan and other brotherly countries, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and my dear brother Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will go a long way towards advancing regional peace, stability and reconciliation during this sensitive period.”
He said Pakistan remains firmly committed to supporting all efforts that promote restraint and a peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. We are very hopeful that the current momentum will lead to a lasting agreement that secures durable peace and stability for the region and beyond.
