Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) militants suffered heavy losses after Pakistan security forces successfully repulsed an attack along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah sector.
The TTA on Monday night had resorted to firing from Kanyan Thana towards Faisal Post.
Sources said Pakistani troops came under attack and returned fire. They said the response followed standard procedures to contain the threat and avoid escalation.
Officials said several militant positions were targeted during the exchange and the action focused on precision and control on the ground.
Security sources said seven militant posts were engaged by using mortars, surveillance drones and armored vehicles, including tanks.
TTA militants suffered heavy causalities and they were forced to flee and abandon their positions.
Pakistani authorities have repeatedly raised concerns over cross-border attacks from Afghan soil.
Attack on Kharan police station repulsed, 6-7 terrorists sent to hell
Last week a police station also come under attack in Kharan, an area of Balochistan however due to timely intervention by the Frontier Constabulary troops the attack has been repulsed and six to seven terrorists of Indian sponsored BLA have been sent to hell.
According to initial reports, 50-60 Fitana Al-Hindustan terrorists riding on motorcycles planned a coordinated attack in Kharan city. Out of which 20-25 terrorists attacked Kharan police station to engage the police.
