Pakistan has reiterated its demand for an immediate halt to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
This appeal was voiced by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the Security Council briefing concerning Ukraine.
The ambassador emphasised the necessity of resuming sustained, structured, and meaningful negotiations, highlighting that a military solution is not viable and that enduring peace can only be attained through dialogue based on the principles of the UN Charter.
Amid the regional conflict, a Russian drone strike, on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of three individuals in the historic center of the western city of Lviv, Ukraine.
Ukraine targets Russian oil port
Ukraine launched drones, on Monday targeting a major Russian oil port located near the Finland border, as reported by both Moscow and Kyiv, resulting in a fire at the site.
Satellite imagery revealed flames and dense clouds of black smoke ascending from the oil terminal in Primorsk, a Russian town positioned on the Gulf of Finland, approximately 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the EU and NATO member states.
Russia has been bombarding Ukraine with daily air strikes, consistently striking its energy infrastructure and causing blackouts.
