Several universities are closed and exams postponed ahead of peace talks in Islamabad.

According to reports, the International Islamic University Islamabad will conduct online classes from April 20 to 24, while the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has also moved to remote learning and temporarily closed its campus.

Rawalpindi Medical University has postponed examinations.

US delegation is going to Islamabad tomorrow, confirms President Trump

Earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed that a delegation will be coming to Islamabad, Pakistan, tomorrow (Monday) for negotiations with Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, he said, “My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan — They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations.”

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, will be in Islamabad.

“Steve’s going to be going there tomorrow night,” Trump said in a phone call from the White House, confirming that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will land in Islamabad on Monday night ahead of a second round of peace talks, reports New York Post.

Earlier, the authorities of the twin cities declared a suspension of all kinds of movement, including private, public and transport of goods.

DC Islamabad declared that it is suspending the public and heavy transport in the federal capital, saying that the decision has been taken as part of administrative measures and urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies.

There was no mention of duration in the announcement, but it stated that the restriction will be in force until further notice.
