The US and Iran have been exchanging threats for many days, and now other countries are realising the danger and issuing warnings for their citizens to leave Iran immediately.
Serbia and Sweden have issued urgent advisories instructing their citizens to leave Iran immediately, citing growing uncertainty and the risk of rapid deterioration in the region, according to media reports.
According to reports, Serbia’s Foreign Ministry released an emergency travel advisory warning that the security situation in Iran and the broader region could worsen at any moment.
The ministry strongly urged Serbian nationals currently residing in Iran to end their stay and relocate to safer locations as soon as possible.
“The safety of our citizens is paramount,” the ministry said, emphasising that leaving Iran is the most effective way to reduce potential risks under the current circumstances.
Sweden has issued a similar directive. The Swedish Foreign Minister stated that the situation in Iran and the surrounding areas remains unpredictable, prompting authorities to advise Swedish citizens to depart the country without delay.
Neither government has specified particular incidents behind the advisories, but stressed that the evolving regional dynamics require precautionary measures to ensure the safety of their nationals.
Travel advisories are typically issued when governments assess heightened security threats, political instability, or the possibility of conflict that could endanger foreign nationals.
