According to a post on X, a huge amount of fire can be seen erupting from the ground towards the sky, described as an airstrike carried out by a joint operation of the US and Israel.
Another post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, indicates that Iran’s capital, Tehran, was targeted with cluster bombs.
As per the post, densely populated areas were subjected to indiscriminate bombing by American missiles.
Blasts heard in multiple cities
Heavy explosions have been reported in several cities across Iran as the conflict with Israel enters its second month.
According to reports on March 31, loud blasts were heard in different parts of Tehran, including northeastern and southern areas.
Smoke was seen rising from multiple locations after the strikes.
Other cities, including Tabriz, Isfahan, Qom and Bandar Abbas, were also reported to have been targeted.
Military sites among targets
Reports indicate that the strikes focused on missile launch sites, drone facilities and installations linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Israeli officials have said the objective is to reduce Iran’s ability to respond militarily.
At least five people were reported killed in one strike near Bandar Abbas, according to local media.
Conflict escalates since February
The conflict began on February 28, when Israel and the United States launched coordinated operations.
In the early phase, there were unverified reports of the death of Ali Khamenei and several senior military figures. There has been no independent confirmation of these claims.
Since then, the fighting has expanded, with Iran launching missiles towards Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. One reported strike hit an oil facility in Haifa, causing a fire.
Rising casualties and international concern
Reports suggest that more than 2,000 people have been killed in Iran, with thousands injured. In Lebanon, over 1,000 deaths have also been reported.
Donald Trump has warned of further strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure if a deal is not reached.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire as concerns grow over the widening conflict.
