Veteran Pakistani actor of ‘Guest House’ fame Khalid Hafeez Khan has passed away on Monday night in Islamabad, according to family sources. The cause of his death remains unclear.

He will be laid to rest at H-11 graveyard after Asr prayers.

Khalid Hafeez Khan was best known for his role as Mr Shameem in PTV’s hit comedy series ‘Guest House’ of the 90’s era. He had played as the owner of the guest house, who claims loyalty to his wife, but she constantly doubts him.

Her suspicion comes from his habit of flirting. He is often caught doing so, mainly with minor female celebrities staying at the guest house.

He is also portrayed as an extreme miser and strongly opposes his wife’s shopping habits, which often trigger domestic disputes.

He frequently deducts small amounts from staff salaries as punishment.

He has also acted in Nishan-e-Haider: Captain Mohammad Sarwar Shaheed in th 1980s.

Fans and fellow artists have mourned his death and praised his lasting contributions to Pakistani television.
