NEW DELHI: According to the reputable American newspaper Wall Street Journal, religious minorities have been experiencing increased amounts of violence in Modi’s government.
In the article “The Hindu Attacks on India’s Christmas” it is said that the Modi government especially targets Muslims and Christians. Their lives have been made especially difficult.
Prime Minister Modi did not even condemn the attacks on churches and Christian homes on Christmas.
PM Modi’s silence gives the green light to extremist Hindus to commit violence in the name of religion against Muslims and Christians.
Muslims in the Modi government are treated like secondary citizens. Especially when it comes to education, residence, employment, and voting.
Only 2.3 per cent of the Indian population is Christian. They are being forcefully converted into Hindus. They are also being attacked under the guise that they have committed blasphemy against the Hindu religion.
A total of 706 violent incidents have been reported against Christians in just 2025 in India. The attacks were on Christmas decorations, churches and homes of Christians.
Under Modi’s government, the minorities are in constant threat of violence and spend their lives as secondary citizens. The violent incidents under the Modi government have increased dramatically. The government itself has made Muslims and Christians have target for violence.
The fear of life is so great in Muslim and Christian communities in India that it has produced deep psychological and social issues for these communities. Hate speech against such communities has been normalised. Rarely is any legal action taken when such communities are targeted.
India is on its way to becoming a Hindu Supremacist state under Modi, which will not have a place for anyone but extremist Hindus.
