Vivo has launched the X300s smartphone alongside its higher-end X300 Ultra, expanding its latest lineup.
The new device sits between the standard X300 and the more premium X300 Pro.
The company is positioning the X300s as a balance between performance and price, with several features shared with its higher-end sibling but a different camera system.
Display and design
The X300s comes with a 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,260 by 2,800 pixels.
It supports a 144Hz refresh rate and 10-bit colour, offering smooth visuals for everyday use.
The phone uses an LTPO panel similar to the one found in the Pro model, though it does not include Dolby Vision support.
It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it is designed to resist dust and water.
Other features include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and a customised vibration motor.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB-C port.
Performance and software
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, the same chipset used in the X300 Pro.
It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
To manage heat during heavy use, the phone includes a large cooling system with a vapour chamber and graphite layers.
It runs on Android 16 with Vivo’s OriginOS 6 software.
Camera setup
The X300s features a triple rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel main sensor.
It is supported by a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
The front camera also uses a 50-megapixel sensor.
Vivo has included its V3+ imaging chip to assist with photo and video processing.
An optional photography kit adds a teleconverter lens, extending zoom capabilities for users who want longer focal lengths.
Battery and charging
The phone is equipped with a 7,100mAh battery, which is larger than many devices in the same category.
It supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, along with reverse wired charging.
Price and availability
The X300s is currently available for pre-order in China, with open sales starting on April 3, 2026.
Prices begin at around $720 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model.
Higher storage variants go up to $1,010, while a bundled version with the photography kit is priced at $1,160.
With the X300s, Vivo appears to be targeting users who want high-end performance and a large battery, but at a lower price than its flagship Pro models.
The release adds another option in an increasingly competitive smartphone market, where manufacturers continue to offer premium features across a wider range of devices.
