Pakistani Tech Entrepreneur Waqar Zaka to Run for Prime Minister in 2029 Elections

Waqar Zaka announces 2029 prime minister bid via Technology Movement Pakistan

Pakistani tech entrepreneur and activist Waqar Zaka says he intends to run for prime minister in five years under the banner of Technology Movement Pakistan (TMP).

Framing TMP as a break from patronage politics, he says the party’s focus will be technology, innovation, and the digital economy.

Zaka plans to invite people from PML-N, PPP, MQM, and PTI to join TMP, adding that the platform will be used to debate Pakistan’s core issues and craft policy driven solutions.

He also welcomed young people to sign up and said he is saving funds for the 2029 general elections.

Praising Field Marshal Asim Munir for efforts to engage global partners.

Furthermore, Zaka argued Pakistan should move away from personality led politics and toward policy debates.

On crypto, he reiterated his long held stance, saying that if a former prime minister had not filed an FIR against him over bitcoin and had not tried to restrict it, Pakistan could have “surpassed El Salvador” in crypto adoption.

He invited Pakistanis to support his technology based manifesto, framing TMP as an open platform for professionals and voters who want a tech first policy agenda before the next national vote.
