According to a new poll a large majority of the people in the United States of America believe that the decision to take military action against Iran was a mistake.

The war has disturbed the global economy and Americans are currently facing the issue of rising cost-of-living concerns.

On Friday the Washington Post-ABC-Ipsos poll was released. The poll revealed that 61 per cent of the American population believed that the invasion of Iran was a mistake. Only 36 per cent of the population believed that it was the right decision.

The poll is the latest of its kind and has found that the war is not widely supported by the population of America. The war started in late February between the United States, Israel and Iran.

The war has killed thousands of people in the Middle East. It has also caused the prices of oil to surge throughout the world.

The respondents were also asked if they had changed their behaviour due to higher fuel prices. In the answer to this question, 44 per cent of the respondents said that they had to reduce their driving to save money.

And 42 per cent said they also did the same for the household expenses.

For respondents who were making less than $50,000 per year these figures increased to 56 and 59 per cent.

Americans are facing these issues at a time when Donald Trump’s approval ratings have fallen to an all-time low. Deep frustration is being shown by voters over economic issues and the cost of living.

Many respondents also believed that the war is in contrast with Trump’s promises to keep the US out of foreign wars.

46 per cent of the respondents indicated that the decision to attack Iran was inconsistent with the position Trump took during his presidential campaign.
