Weather tomorrow: rain, snow, strong winds expected in several areas

Authorities have put the country on high alert as a strong spell of stormy weather is expected in Pakistan, as per the reports on Monday.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that a powerful western weather system may bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, and even unusual snowfall in late April in northern areas.

Many cities are likely to face heavy rain, thunder, hailstorms, and strong winds. These cities include Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Sialkot.

The harsh weather could also damage property and disturb daily life, reports warn.

Heavy snowfall is also expected in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). A sudden drop in temperature is also expected in these regions due to the harsh weather.

Officials have warned that continuous rain and snow could cause landslides in mountainous areas. Tourists have also been advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

NDMA has further asked all departments to stay alert and be ready to respond to any emergency to avoid any mishaps.

Pakistan weather forecast

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert across the country from April 12 to 17 due to possible severe weather conditions.

Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Sialkot are expected to receive rain with thunder, strong winds, and possible hailstorms from April 13 to 17.

Weather forecast Karachi

Hot weather is expected to be experienced in Karachi because of the intense sunshine and reduced wind speeds, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

As per the Met office in the city previously, mild heatwave like condition have started, and warm weather is likely to continue in the coming three days.

A day earlier than this, the NDMA issued a warning about potential dangers and disasters due to rainfall.

It forecast thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in various parts of the country over the next 12 to 24 hours.
