Christopher Mark Taylor, a 45-year old umpire from Jamaica, West Indies is scheduled to officiate three matches in the on-going President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26 as part of the International Cricket Council’s Umpire Exchange Program, Pakistan Cricket Board said on Tuesday.
Taylor will start his assignment with the four-day fixture between Ghani Glass and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at the National Bank Stadium, that will be played on Wednesday, January 21. This match will be the first in which he appears in the tournament as an on-field umpire in Pakistan.
The experienced West Indian official will then move to the KCCA Stadium, where he will occupy his position in the Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) vs SNGPL match, which will begin on 27th January.
His third and final assignment of the exchange programme is the Sahir Associates Vs. Pakistan Television (PTV) encounter match, that would be played from 2nd February at the National Bank Stadium.
Taylor comes with an experience in both international and domestic cricket. During his umpiring career, he has been responsible for umpiring five women’s One Day Internationals and three women’s T20 Internationals.
In addition to this, he has immense exposure at domestic level where he has stood in 41 first class matches and 56 list A games and 53 T20 matches in different forms of competition.
His last assignment involved the domestic 50-over tournament in the West Indies which he umpired in November 2025.
The intention behind is that the presence of Taylor will add value to the President’s Trophy by ensuring that the standards of the officiating will be high and in that Taylor will provide an opportunity for local umpires to benefit from his experience.
As part of the ICC Umpire Exchange Programme, Taylor is not only expected to help further his personal development as a professional by working in different circumstances far from home, he is also expected to share his insights and observations gained from working in the West Indies domestic circuit.
The aim of the initiative is to enhance the promotion of knowledge-sharing, the consistency of decision-making and the overall improvement in the umpiring standards in the domain of international and domestic cricket.
