The National Cyber ​​Emergency Team has issued an alert about the Rs13,000 cash prize fraud, saying that clicking links poses a serious risk of financial loss.

According to the details, a new online fraud has emerged in Pakistan to deceive citizens on the occasion of Independence Day, in which a false lure of a cash prize is being given through SMS and WhatsApp. These messages are offering a cash prize of Rs13,000.

The National Cyber Emergency Response Team has issued a warning about the scam. It has advised citizens to stay careful and avoid opening links sent through such messages.

The fake messages contain suspicious links. People may be asked to click on these links or enter their personal details. This can put their personal and financial information at risk. It may also lead to financial losses.

What to do if you receive scam messages?

The cyber team has asked people not to click on unknown or suspicious links. Citizens should also not reply to these messages or forward them to others.

People who receive such messages should delete them immediately. They should also block and report the number from which the message was sent.

The team has also advised citizens to check suspicious links before opening them. They can use the official ‘Fish Radar’ portal to verify a link or URL. Authorities have also urged the citizens to remain alert and not fall for fake prize offers.

FIA arrests visa fraud suspect

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a wanted suspect involved in human smuggling and visa fraud during a major operation by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi, according to reports today.

According to FIA officials, the suspect was identified as Abdul Rasheed. He was arrested at the Sialkot International Airport, and then later, he was shifted to Karachi.

Officials said that the accused had been absconding for a long time and was allegedly involved in collecting millions of rupees from citizens by promising to send them to Spain and other European countries through fake Schengen visas and illegal immigration channels.
