WEBDESK: A lawsuit has been filed against Will Smith and his company by a professional musician. The lawsuit accuses the entertainer and actor of sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.
The violinist Brian King Joseph filed the complaint on December 30. The complaint was filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. The defendants according to the lawsuit are Will Smith, 57 and Trey Ball Studios Management, Inc.
The complaint suggests that Will Smith was priming and grooming Mr. Joseph for further sexual exploitation. This happened after Will invited Mr. Joseph to join his Based on a True Story: 2025 world tour in November 2024.
According to the last suit there is a traumatic series of events that allegedly took place last year in March 2025 on the tour in Las Vegas. According to Joseph once he returned to his hotel room and some had entered without forced entry.
In his room he found a handwritten note which said Brian I’ll be back…just us. It was signed by someone named Stone F and a heart was drawn on it.
After that Joeseph started fearing that some unknown individual would come into his room any time they want. He feared that will come to engage in sexual acts.
He reported the incident to a local non-emergency police line, hotel staff and Smith’s management team. Joseph alleges after reporting it a tour manager shamed him and later fired him. It is also claimed in the complaint that another violinist was hired to replace him.
The lawsuit claims that the incident caused Joseph economic loss, severe emotional distress, reputational harm and other damages. He also got PTSD and other mental illnesses as a result of termination.
