ISLAMABAD: Winter vacations for all schools being run under the ambit of Federal Directorate of Education will begin from December 26, 2025.
According to the notification issued by the FDE, winter vacations in all education institutions under the FDE will begin from December 26 till January 3, 2026.
Classes will resume from January 5, 2026.
Furthermore, the second Saturday that is January 10 will be observed as the working day for the administration, teaching and non-teaching staff, as per the notification.
Private educational institutions in Islamabad have already announced winter vacations in the federal capital.
Winter vacations in Balochistan and Punjab schools
The Balochistan education department issued the schedule of winter vacations. All the public and private schools in the province will remain closed from 16 December for two and a half months.
On the other hand, Punjab also released a schedule for winter vacations, stating that educational institutes will kick off the holidays from 23 December 2025. The schools will resume routine classes on 12 January 2026.
Winter vacations in KP
In the summer zones, the institutions will be closed between 1 January and 15 January. However, a much longer break will be witnessed in the winter season.
These schools will remain closed between 22 December 2025 and 28 February 2026. This will ensure that students and the staff are not exposed to the extreme seasonal cold.
