WEB DESK: Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok is the trending topic, as users were able to create explicit images of minors on X (previously recognised as Twitter).
According to the post from Grok, the AI platform, developed under xAI, also a Musk’s company, was reported to be generating such illegal images due to ‘laps in safeguards’.
Users are quite anxious about their privacy, and some of them have also shared screenshots showing Grok’s public media tab portraying sexualized images of minors.
The parent company xAI has said that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is highly forbidden and illegal. The company has promised to ‘urgently fix’ the system to avoid such incidents further.
Grok has said that, “These are isolated cases, but we recognise lapses and are working to block such requests entirely.”
The incident has ignited an international debate. Moreover, French authorities even reported the matter to the media regulator, Arcom, by claiming that it is a breach of the European Union (EU)’s Digital Services Act.
Grok has always remained controversial, even in the last year. The gossip includes the posting of offensive material and anti-Semitic content.
This has raised questions regarding the safety of the most used app in the whole world.
