Yamaha’s YBR 125 has long been a favourite among Pakistani riders seeking a smooth and comfortable ride. While it does not boast the loud, commanding exhaust of the Honda CG 125, it targets riders who prioritise comfort.
The YBR 125 has a 125 cc engine, 5-speed transmission, and a 13-litre fuel tank, giving an average mileage of around 45 kilometres per litre. Among Yamaha’s 125 cc lineup in Pakistan, the YB 125Z starts at Rs424,000, the YB 125Z-DX 2026 costs Rs454,000, the YBR 125 2026 is priced at Rs466,000, and the YBR 125G 2026, the most popular model, is available for Rs485,000.
However, 2026 brings new challenges for buyers. Yamaha Motor Pakistan Ltd discontinued local assembly of motorcycles in late 2025. While spare parts remain available through authorised dealers, the supply is limited compared to the vast network supporting the Honda CG 125.
The Honda CG 125 continues to dominate the 125 cc commuter segment, thanks to its affordable pricing, simple maintenance, and local production. Its air-cooled OHV engine delivers strong low-end torque, making it ideal for short urban rides and rough roads. The classic design, upright riding posture, and widespread availability of parts further strengthen its appeal.
In contrast, the YBR 125 offers a more modern look, wider tank, sportier stance, and better seat cushioning. Riders covering longer distances appreciate the smoother performance and reduced vibration, making it comfortable for extended rides. Yet, its higher price and less accessible spare parts network limit its practicality for new buyers.
For those thinking of buying a used YBR 125, the bike remains a great choice for comfort-focused commuting. Prospective buyers should weigh the convenience of parts availability and maintenance costs when making a decision.
