Educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed on March 11, 2026, to mark Youm-e-Ali, as per the details on Monday. The holiday will apply to all schools and colleges across the province.
In light of the decision of the steering committee, a holiday notification was issued. Secretary of Education Zahid Ali Abbasi of Sindh has issued a holiday notification for March 11.
Authorities said all educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed on 21 Ramzan.
Will schools be closed on Youm-e-Ali?
The decision is for both public and private institutions. No announcement has been made about holidays in educational institutions in Punjab.
Meanwhile, federal government educational institutions will observe spring vacations. According to a notification, these institutions will remain closed from March 24 to March 27.
Federal government institutions will reopen on March 30. Officials said the spring break has been planned in line with the upcoming Eid ul Fitr holidays.
Youm-e-Ali is observed every year on 21 Ramzan. The day marks the martyrdom of Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S), who was the cousin and son in law of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the fourth of the Rashidun Caliphs (656–661 CE).
