The Prime Minister of Pakistan, under the Austerity Policy, has ordered the cancellation of the ceremonies of Youm-e-Pakistan this year. This decision was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar today.
On March 23rd, the celebrations of Youm-e-Pakistan in Pakistan’s embassies in foreign countries will be very limited this year.
At Pakistani missions abroad, only flag-raising ceremonies will be held on Youm-e-Pakistan. This year, reception ceremonies will not be held at embassies on Youm-e-Pakistan.
This decision has been taken to express solidarity with the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. This decision has also been taken to respect the loss of life that has taken place.
Due to ongoing conflicts, it has been decided not to hold the Youm-e-Pakistan reception ceremonies.
The resolution of issues is only possible through dialogue. Dialogue and diplomacy should be promoted to end tensions in the region.
This decision is part of the broader austerity policy, and as proof of solidarity with the countries and peoples of the Middle East and everyone who has been affected due to the conflict.
Youm-e-Pakistan is celebrated every year on March 23 in Pakistan. March 23, 1940, was a historic day for the muslims of the subcontinent.
Under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Lahore Resolution was presented. This resolution later became the foundation for the establishment of Pakistan.
This day reminds us of the unity, solidarity and sacrifices that our forefathers made for an independent state.
