A 20-year-old woman from Azerbaijan was allegedly gang-raped in Lahore’s Defence area. According to media reports, the woman had arrived in Pakistan for business purposes and had been staying near Raiwind Road for the past 15 days.
On Friday evening, two unidentified women allegedly invited her to dinner. She accompanied them to a café, where three men were already present. After the meal, the group allegedly took the woman to a flat, where the three men sexually assaulted her. The suspects later abandoned the woman near the airport and fled the scene.
Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged gang rape of the foreign national. An investigation is underway, and police said efforts are being made to arrest the suspects. Lahore police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.
According to media reports and the FIR, the victim, identified as Diana, had arrived in Lahore a few days earlier. She was allegedly lured to a café by two unidentified women, where three male acquaintances of the women were already present.
The suspects allegedly took the woman from the café to a flat, where she was reportedly made to consume an intoxicating substance before being sexually assaulted by three men.
Police officials said the suspects allegedly dropped the woman near Lahore airport after the incident and fled the scene. The suspects also allegedly took her iPhone and another expensive mobile phone.
SP Cantt Usman Aziz said a case had been registered on the woman’s complaint against three unidentified suspects. He said the suspects were accused of drugging the woman before allegedly assaulting her.
The officer said police were collecting evidence from the crime scene based on information provided by the victim. CCTV footage and other sources are also being examined to identify and locate the suspects.
