At least 18 people were injured, including children, in the Fitna al Khawarij attack in Miranshah.
The sorrowful incident occurred in Chashma Sarbandki checkpost on the Bannu Miranshah main road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan on Friday.
According to Dr Asif Iqbal, Medical Superintendent at the district headquarters hospital, four of them sustained critical injuries.
According to media reports, four of the injured victims were in critical condition. The hospital had declared an emergency to deal with the situation after the incident.
The site of the explosion was immediately sealed off. Authorities have launched an investigation and are currently gathering evidence from the area.
However, in the current week, security forces have successfully repelled multiple attacks under Operation Ghazab lil Haq in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), inflicting heavy losses on the Afghan Taliban.
Federal Minister for Information took to X, stating that in Balochistan, Afghan Taliban launched a physical attack on 16 different locations in the northern parts of the province, including Qilla Saifullah, Noshki and Chaman districts. In addition, fire raids were carried out at 25 locations targeting security posts.
All attacks were effectively repulsed with a total of 27 killed, while several others sustained injuries during the clashes.
