An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale shook Qilla Saifullah and nearby areas in Balochistan early Wednesday, a private media channel reported.

Residents rushed out of their homes in panic and recited verses from the Holy Quran. Authorities confirmed no casualties or damage to property.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad said the quake’s epicentre was 100 kilometres northeast of Muslim Bagh at a depth of 16 kilometres.

Earlier, on Monday, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Dalbandin and surrounding areas at a depth of 66 kilometres, with its epicenter 47 kilometres southeast of Dalbandin.

In a horrific incident, three women and two children among seven lost their lives after two luxury vehicles collided near Yakmuch in Dalbadin.

According to a police spokesperson, the dead bodies of two men, three women, and two children have been shifted to the hospital. Three other individuals also sustained injuries in the accident.

Moreover, the rescue officials reached the spot of the incident and rushed the injured to the hospital.

Earlier, at least 14 people, including women and children, died, and many others were injured in a road accident in Sargodha due to heavy fog early Saturday morning.

According to rescue sources, 23 people were travelling in a mini truck near Gulpur Bangla area of ​​Tehsil Kot Momin of Sargodha, but due to reduced visibility due to heavy fog, the mini truck went off the road and fell into a dry canal.
