According to media reports, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs released data on pilgrims who have paid their Hajj expenses through the Hajj digital platform. The spokesperson said that 84,000 Hajj pilgrims have deposited the first installment of their dues under the government scheme through the Hajj digital portal. Under the government scheme, 30,000 seats for the long Hajj package have already been filled, leaving only 23,500 seats available.
According to the spokesperson, three payment channels have been introduced through the Pak Hajj app and Hajj portal. A total of Rs52.5 billion has been received through all three channels as the first instalment. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised those wishing to perform Hajj in 2027 to complete their registration details and make their payments through the Hajj portal as soon as possible. The ministry said bookings for the 40-day Hajj package will close once the required number of pilgrims has been reached.
It is worth mentioning here that Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf had earlier inaugurated an online payment system for pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj in 2027, allowing them to pay their Hajj expenses digitally from home. The minister said people across Pakistan can now submit their Hajj fees online, with payments also available through bank cards.
Sardar Yousaf said more than 400,000 people have already registered through the Pak Hajj app. He added that, with the support of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), pilgrims have been provided with an online application facility, while the entire Hajj process has been digitised end-to-end. The minister said that following the launch of the online payment facility, pilgrims can now pay their Hajj expenses from the comfort of their homes. He further announced that 107,527 seats have been allocated to the government scheme for Hajj 2027.
