Hassan August 17, 2026 Pakistan

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has changed the date for receiving applications for Hajj 2027 and it has been decided that the process will start on August 18 instead of August 17.

On a first-come, first-served basis, the applications and payments will be accepted at the Habib Bank branches, according to ministry sources.

Applications will be closed once the government’s allocated number of applicants is reached.

The number of pilgrims allowed for Pakistan in 2027 Hajj has been determined as 179,210.

The government Hajj scheme has received 107,526 seats, representing 60 per cent, while the private scheme received 71,684 seats, accounting for 40 per cent.

The Hajj expenses will be paid in two halves, sources said.

The applicants will have to pay half of the total amount on the application and the remaining amount will be collected based on the ministry’s schedule.

Another significant announcement is that the Pakistan Origin Card (POC) holders will be allowed to take part in Hajj 2027 for the first time.

Now, 1% of the total Hajj quota, which is 1,792, has been allocated to Pakistani origin POC holders.

POC holders will be able to apply through either the government or private Hajj scheme.

But their involvement will be dependent on Saudi Arabia’s visa criteria and any legal and administrative restrictions.

The detailed terms, conditions and application guidelines will be issued on the official website by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Candidates are requested to check the requirements carefully prior to applying.
